Worship & Music Ministries
Worship Teams
Our Worship Teams are FBC’s main offering of musical worship in our services each week. The teams consist of both male and female vocalists, and instrumentalists. The singers can
be of any age, high school and up, the only requirements being a love for worshipping God
and a voice with which to do it! Instrumentalists include guitar players (both rhythm and lead, acoustic and electric), bass players, drummers, keyboardists, percussionists, and just about any wind or string instrument out there. In other words, if you play an instrument and desire to use it in worship, we’ll find a way!
All vocalists and instrumentalists need to meet with Todd Bunce, our Worship Pastor, before being considered for involvement in our worship teams.
Sound and Presentation Teams
Sound and Presentation teams encompass the technical end of our worship services – the operation of the sound board, and the running of the presentation system (video and computer projection). Both require a time of training, sitting alongside our current team members and “shadowing” them – learning how things work in the context of actually doing them. We’ve found this an effective learning tool. Those interested in either the sound or presentation teams would benefit from previous experience, but it is not required. A love of, and a basic aptitude for, technical things is enough to get you started.
Choirs
FBC offers seasonal SATB choirs at Christmas and Easter. The choir is open to any and all singers, “grades 7 thru age 99,” without audition. The choir begins rehearsing about 9 weeks before Christmas, and 5 weeks before Easter, learning a range of repertoire to sing at the holiday service(s). The choir is directed by Todd Bunce, Worship Pastor, and accompanied
by volunteer pianists.
FBC also offers a seasonal (Christmas and Easter) Kids’ Choir, meeting during the same time frame as the SATB choir. It is open to kids in grades 2-8 (7th and 8th graders can chose to join the kids’ choir or the SATB choir).
FBC has several bell choir of varying ages and abilities. Ringing Praise is the ladies bell choir, rehearsing on Wednesday evenings under the direction of Todd Bunce, Worship Pastor. Involvement in this choir would require some previous experience with bell ringing.
Solo and Ensembles
Vocalists or instrumentalists who reach a certain level of ability generally desire to use their talents, whether in a solo capacity or within an ensemble – FBC provides for, and encourages, those opportunities. Any singer or player who would like to be involved in this special music category is encouraged to meet with Todd Bunce to discuss the opportunities available.
Ministry Enhancements and Communion Teams
Have a flair for the artistic? An eye for decorating? Our enhancement team takes charge of decorating the auditorium for regular Sunday services, and also helps create that proper atmosphere with special seasonal decorating. With lots of seasons each year, and lots more Sundays, there are many opportunities to use your artistic abilities.
If you prefer more behind-the-scenes service, our Communion Teams help prepare the bread and juice for our monthly Communion services.
